Kids don’t all begin their coding journey with the same experience—and that’s okay! At Code Ninjas Louisville, our programs give each Ninja a pathway to build their skills at their own level while working toward becoming confident coders and creators.

🧒 JR Program | Ages 5–7
Young Ninjas explore STEM and coding through hands-on activities, ScratchJr, and CodeSpark in 45-minute weekly sessions.

🎮 Create Program | Ages 8–14
Ninjas build video games while progressing through coding concepts from block-based programming to JavaScript, C #, and GDScript.

Whether they’re just learning how to use a computer or already creating their own games, every Ninja can start where they are and keep building toward the same goal: creating with code! 💻🎮

🖤 BLACK BELT: Capstone Project! 🖤

At Black Belt, Ninjas bring everything they’ve learned from White through Red Belt together to create their own original project from start to finish! 🚀💻🎮

🔹 Planning & Organization: Ninjas will create planning documents, write code comments, maintain legible code, organize variables, and properly initialize their projects.

🔹 Design & Creativity: Ninjas will create a unique and customized project with a consistent theme, matching assets, and an engaging experience.

🔹 Coding & Logic: Ninjas will use sequences, sprite properties, events, functions, loops, data, logic, and extensions to build and program their project.

🔹 UI / UX: Ninjas will create a start screen, directions, splash screens, user interface, user choices, an end screen, and a closing to complete the player experience.

🔹 Playtesting: Ninjas will share their projects with other Ninjas and Code Senseis, gather feedback, and incorporate suggestions to improve their work.

Black Belt gives Ninjas the opportunity to combine everything they’ve learned and turn their ideas into a complete, original project! 🖤✨

🔧 VEX GO | Ages 7–9
A great introduction to robotics and coding! Ninjas learn the basics while designing and building robots with VEX GO kits. No prior robotics experience needed!

⚙️ VEX IQ | Ages 9–14
Take robotics and coding skills further by designing, building, and programming robots with VEX IQ kits. Some prior robotics experience is recommended.

Whether your Ninja is just getting started or ready to build on their robotics skills, there’s an option to help them keep learning and creating!

Every Ninja starts their coding journey at a different place, but with the right pathway, they can all work toward the same goal: becoming confident creators and coders!

🧒 JR Program | Ages 5–7
45-minute weekly sessions introducing young Ninjas to STEM and coding through hands-on tinkering, ScratchJr, and CodeSpark. Visual and tactile learning means no reading is required!

🎮 Create Program | Ages 8–14
1–2+ hour weekly sessions where Ninjas progress from White to Black Belt while building their own video games. They start with block-based coding and advance to JavaScript, C #, and GDScript.

No matter where they begin, each Ninja has the opportunity to grow their skills, build confidence, and work toward the same end goal—creating with code! 💻🎮

🔹 Level 1: Build a physics-based mini golf game with multiple holes, tilemaps, Status Bars, and UI features that enhance the player experience.

🔹 Level 2: Create a strategic Tower Defense game with timed enemy waves, multiple paths and levels, different enemy and tower types, an in-game economy, inventory menus, and custom start, level select, and game over screens.
