Everyone made it until just after lunch Monday before opening their new MacBook Pros.
These technology professionals from Kentucky K-12 schools statewide will use to continue skills improvement and support nearly $500,000 of new classroom computers they earned to start the new academic year!
Great having both new and existing Dataseam district folks together building competencies, learning more about vital University of Louisville Brown Cancer Center drug discovery running daily on the DataseamGrid comprised of computers they receive, and neighboring districts using USDOL Registered Apprenticeship building Kentucky's rural technology workforce, one student at a time.
Many thanks to the Appalachian Regional Commission, US Department of Labor, Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet, and the Kentucky General Assembly for supporting these efforts!

Students from across Kentucky represent the future of our knowledge-based workforce, addressing essential needs in engineering, healthcare, computer science, information technology, and more.
Grateful to the University of Louisville and the UL Admissions team for their efforts in identifying, recruiting, and providing opportunities for these students through the Dataseam Scholars program. And for those DOL Registered Apprentices, we appreciate the institutions chosen by these students as the next steps in life. You are welcoming a remarkable group of individuals. We take pride in each of them!
Many thanks to the Appalachian Regional Commission U.S. Department of Labor Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet, and the Kentucky General Assembly for supporting these initiatives!

Tomorrow our Learning Lab will be filled with technology professionals from across the state, supporting one of Kentucky’s largest and most important workforces, K-12 education.
Like with any Dataseam cohort, folks start the week strangers and maybe a little nervous learning new things. By week’s end, they have made new friends and colleagues. They will be empowered to support Kentucky research and innovation along with everyday classroom instruction.
They will collectively earn nearly $500,000 of advanced instructional technology for their schools, multiples of what is available to most rural Kentucky schools otherwise. They will get to open and earn their own Apple MacBook Pro, for many their first, allowing them to build upon skills when they return home.
We are glad to have them.
It’s going to be a busy week.
Many thanks to the Appalachian Regional Commission U.S. Department of Labor Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet and the Kentucky General Assembly supporting these efforts!
