Lots of fun today and great success! We are fabricating the exhibits for the National Eagle Center and today there was a soft opening of a portion of the Center. We debuted the beta model of the interactive video game - Soar Like an Eagle. We're still adding 2 more units and some "obstacles" along with a different voice over. But staff and guests loved testing it.
Soar Like an Eagle allows guests to become a Bald Eagle and fly along the Mississippi River in southeast MN. Bald Eagles are fish eaters, so the object of Soar Like an Eagle is to catch fish to eat and feed to their baby eaglets. It is not easy to catch the fish, you may hit a log, the fish may be too deep, there may be a powerline to avoid, another eagle may come try to steal your fish, or even worse - the fish you catch could be contaminated with lead, which is poisonous to Eagles. (Encourage your fishing friends to use lead-free fishing tackle).
Special thanks to Jason Latta, Amazing Robot And Sons for the interactive game, and the Build 4 Impact team - Aaron Cleveland, Meg Gammage-Tucker, Courtney Tucker, Here Be Dragons, and Julie Magee for graphic design.
