The World Affairs Council of Kentucky & Southern Indiana extends its deepest condolences to the people of the Dagbon Kingdom and our friends in Tamale following the passing of His Royal Majesty Ndan Ya-Na Abukari II, King and Overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom.

As Louisville's Sister City, Tamale holds a special place in our global community. We join our partners, friends, and all those mourning the loss of a revered leader whose legacy of wisdom, peace, and unity touched countless lives.

Our thoughts are with the Royal Family, the people of Dagbon, and the global Dagbon community during this time of mourning.

The Lion King of Gbewaa, "A Great Tree of the Dagbon Kingdom, has fallen."

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
"Indeed, to Allah we belong, and indeed, to Him we shall return."

His Royal Majesty Nnda Yaa Naa Abukari II, King and Overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom, President of the Dagbon Traditional Council and Northern Region House of Chiefs has passed.

As Zosimli Naa, a daughter of Dagbon, we mourn alongside the Royal Family, my fellow Chiefs, elders, and the people of our beloved Kingdom across the globe.

Though our hearts are heavy, His Majesty's legacy will not be measured only by the years of his reign, but by his voice of wisdom that echoed across nations, the peace he fiercely stewarded and protected, and the unwavering devotion to the vision of a United Dagbon.

Rest well, Your Majesty, Nnda.

Journey well.

May the Almighty God grant eternal peace to His Royal Majesty and comfort us all during this time of mourning.

I humbly ask friends around the world to keep the Dagbon Kingdom and all who loved His Majesty in your prayers.
