Want to learn simple ways to save energy, keep your home comfortable, and potentially lower your electric bill this winter?

Our in-house partner organization, Project Warm, is hosting a FREE Energy Management Workshop on Tuesday, August 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ujima Neighborhood Place.

Participants will learn practical energy-saving practices, see a live weatherization demonstration, and receive a FREE weatherization kit to help put those lessons into action! 🙌

Sometimes, something as simple as a bicycle can open the door to opportunity.

We want to give a HUGE thank you to Beargrass Christian Church and their Pedal Power Ministry for donating 25 bikes to Blueprint 502! 🚲🙌

These aren’t just bikes, they’re another way for the young people and adults we serve to get where they need to go. For some of our participants, having access to a bike can make it easier to get to work, school, training, appointments, and other opportunities that help them move forward.

And we’re especially excited that Blueprint 502 is now on Pedal Power’s list of organizations to receive bikes regularly. In fact, another pickup is already scheduled! 🎉

Pedal Power has been helping people throughout Louisville gain reliable transportation for more than a decade, and we’re grateful to now be one of the organizations benefiting from their incredible work. Their commitment to putting donated and refurbished bicycles into the hands of people who need them is a powerful example of what can happen when community organizations work together.

Meet the Formation Team: Lynn Rippy 🌟

We are beyond proud to introduce Lynn Rippy, our Monthly Programming Chair here at ABWA Derby City Charter Chapter!

For more than four decades, Lynn has been a driving force for youth and community development right here in Louisville. As Founder and CEO of Blueprint 502, she's built one of Kentucky's most innovative organizations — one that meets young people and families where they are, addressing everything from education and workforce readiness to housing and mental health.

Lynn's work now reaches more than 3,800 young people every year, and in 2025 she brought a decade-long vision to life with the opening of the Smoketown Community Center — a true hub for connection, growth, and opportunity in one of Louisville's most historic neighborhoods.

We can't wait to see the energy and heart Lynn brings to our monthly programming as we build this chapter together. Welcome to the team, Lynn!

Today marks the beginning of a brand-new school year, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome students back!

Our STEAMS Program officially kicked off today at Meyzeek Middle School, where we'll be serving 60 students throughout the school year with hands-on learning, academic support, career exploration, STEM activities, leadership development, and opportunities that help young people discover their full potential.

And we're just getting started!

Our Smoketown Next Generation program at the Blueprint 502 Smoketown Community Center returns September 8, providing a safe, supportive place for young people after school.
