GeoAcademy 04/30/2026

GeoAcademy, offered by the Geospatial Technology Consortium of Community Colleges (GTC3), is an 11-week online/virtual program designed to introduce and expand the use of geospatial tools and analysis across diverse educational roles. Participants will learn how geospatial technologies can be applied within their own work, whether supporting student learning, advancing institutional research, evaluating programs, or enhancing library and instructional resources. The course includes hands-on exercises, mentoring, and a final capstone project. The course will run from approximately August 31 to November 9, 2026. Participants who complete the course in full will receive a $1,000 stipend. The application deadline is June 30, 2026.

The Geospatial Educator Certification (GeoEdC) program, offered by the Geospatial Technology Consortium of Community Colleges (GTC3), is currently accepting applications for its next cohort: https://arcg.is/1X1qTK [arcg.is]! The program is designed for middle school, high school, community college, and university educators who teach or plan to teach geospatial technologies (GST) with intermediate or higher levels of GST experience. GeoEdC supports educators seeking to strengthen their pedagogical skill set and provides formal documentation certifying the technical skills, competencies, and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality, workforce-aligned geospatial instruction.

Accepted applicants (limited to no more than 30 participants) will complete the 4-week, virtual (asynchronous) GeoEdC program starting on July 6 and ending on August 2, 2026.

The Geospatial Technology Consortium of Community Colleges (GTC3) is pleased to announce that the GeoFellows Program application is now OPEN and accepting applications! GeoFellows is a professional development opportunity designed to support full or part time community college faculty in advancing applied or research projects in geospatial technology.

Selected fellows will receive a stipend and structured support to complete a project within one academic semester. Projects may focus on applied geospatial problem-solving, innovative instructional resources, or research that enhances geospatial teaching and learning.

Participants will learn how geospatial technologies can be applied within their own work—whether supporting student learning, advancing institutional research, evaluating programs, or enhancing library and instructional resources. The course includes hands-on exercises, mentoring, and a final capstone project. The course will run from approximately January 26, 2026 - April 13, 2026. Participants who complete the course in full will receive a $1,000 stipend. The application deadline is November 28, 2025.
