Congratulations to the PharmD Class of 2029! 🎉🥼

We recently celebrated their White Coat Ceremony, a significant milestone that marks the beginning of each student's journey into the pharmacy profession. As these future pharmacists donned their white coats for the first time, they embraced the responsibility, compassion, and commitment to patient care that define our profession.

We are excited to support and witness the growth of this remarkable class as they develop into the next generation of medication experts, healthcare leaders, and advocates for their patients.

Dean Misty Stutz, Dr. Katie Leslie, and Dr. Christian Castro recently celebrated the accomplishments of 80 undergraduate pre-health scholars, including 10 pharmacy-track scholars, as the 2026 Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) came to a close. After more than a decade of partnership between the COPHS and the University of Louisville Health Sciences Center, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funding for SHPEP has concluded.

Through the dedication of COPHS faculty, staff, and student ambassadors, more than 100 hours of mentoring, advising, shadowing, and engagement helped create meaningful experiences that will influence students’ academic and professional journeys for years to come.

Special congratulations to Dr. Castro, recipient of the SHPEP Champion Award, recognizing his exceptional leadership of the Biochemistry curriculum over the years.

While it’s bittersweet to see SHPEP conclude, we are incredibly proud of its legacy and the lasting impact it has had on aspiring health professionals. Thank you to everyone who contributed behind the scenes and on the front lines to make this remarkable program a success.
