Happy 8th Birthday DrumSmart LLC. Eight years ago I pursued my passion for providing percussion services in my community. It started out as a side hustle where I offered percussion lessons out of my home. 🥁 For the past two years, it slowly transformed into a full time way of life that fueled my passions for offering group drumming playshops for health and well being, performance, professional development, music education consulting, resources, drumming videos, research, articles, ebooks, and more. 💝 After accepting a full time teaching position, my business is currently part-time and I am available on a limited basis. I've turned over a new leaf out here in the middle of the holler in Belfry, KY. What once was a very competitive band director in Texas, has turned into a compassionate director who wants the best for all. Thank you Mallory Draughn Williamson and Jenny Collins for helping me remember who I am and what I stand for. Private lessons are a privilege, and I am grateful that I was able to receive this luxury when I was a student. In remote places where there is little to no access to private lessons, video lessons are the best replacement. Private coaching sessions for the Pike County all-county middle school percussionists are up and ready to view. Hope your students have fun and learn something new. Best wishes to all on your upcoming auditions.

Last Camp of the summer has come and gone. I am super excited to see where this year takes the Belfry High School Band. I have to give a big congratulations to the students for being present and their willingness to try new things. 🙌🏼 It was a ton of fun and I am so grateful to work with you and your director Mallory Draughn Williamson. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

Camp 2 of 7 was a success! When the students were asked how does drumming make you feel, they responded positively overall. Some students said they felt like a true musician or even a rockstar. One person reported feeling overwhelmed because of the loudness of the drums. I am so glad I asked because this will help me to be more mindful of the volume for my remaining camps. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
