Yearbook Photos of the Week!

MAYHEM READY Painting their faces before school, Emma Smith and Keira Hart prepare for the Mayhem assembly. The pair add a spirited touch to their looks with face and body paint.

SERVING SUCCESS Serving the ball, Ajay Chandran (10) competes for a spot in the regional finals on Oct. 7. After receiving a first-round bye as the top seed, Chandran won his match, adding points to the team’s score.

TAKING A SWING Swinging at a pitch, Kate Church (12) bats during the softball game against Loveland on Oct. 3. The team’s winning streak ended with a 6–4 defeat, its first loss of the season.

DOUBLE UP Exchanging a high-five, Max Ludke (10) and Logan Zawistowski (10) encourage each other during regionals on Oct. 7. After winning their first match, the pair faced the No. 1 seed to compete for a spot at state.

PUNTING PRO Dropping the ball for a punt, Sawyer Sundberg (11) prepares to send it downfield after making a save. Although Monarch fell short of a victory, Sundberg worked to protect the goal throughout the game.

KILL KRAZE Celebrating a kill by Jordan Towns (9), Maya Singh (12) and Kate Shima (12) cheer her on during the volleyball game against Niwot on Oct. 6. Singh’s confidence, effort and energy helped lead the team to a win over Niwot, the tenth-ranked team in the state.

HEAD IN THE GAME Rising for a header, Mark Torrents (12) competes against rival Centaurus High School on Sept. 29. The team battled from start to finish in the rivalry matchup.

HANDS-ON LEARNING Preserving a fingerprint, Quinn Sartell (11) works to solve a murder mystery during a HOSA meeting on Oct. 8. Club members used different techniques to collect evidence from a staged crime scene in preparation for their next meeting.

BREAKING FREE Escaping a Westminster defender, quarterback Nico Rizzello (12) runs toward the end zone for his third touchdown of the game during Monarch’s homecoming game on Sept. 25. Rizzello’s score gave Monarch a 41–0 halftime lead as the Coyotes went on to defeat Westminster 47–6.

HITS AND HELMETS Throwing the football, Kate Church (12) hits the bottle off Doan’s head during the mayhem assembly on Sept 25. After multiple failed attempts from both teams, Church stepped up too help ring in a win for the senior class.

GOAL DIGGERS Clearing the ball from Monarch’s defensive end, John Hramiec (11) makes a play during the boys soccer game against Centaurus on Sept. 29. Monarch fell to Centaurus 3–0.

MAN DOWN Bringing down a Fossil Ridge player, Bennett Hager (10) makes a tackle as Malakhi Payne (12) closes in during Monarch’s football game on Sept. 10. Monarch defeated Fossil Ridge 44–37. Payne also rushed for 310 yards and five touchdowns in the win.

TOTAL MAYHEM Wearing decorated shirts and costumes, Jack Larson (10), Ellery McCauley (10) and Isaac Sarver (10) run across the gym during the class fashion show at the Mayhem assembly on Sept. 25. The trio represented the sophomore class as students competed for class points during the assembly.
