Another amazing LALS affiliate, Dr. Hilaria Cruz of Comparative Humanities, was one of several A&S faculty who attended the the inaugural bell hooks symposium, "Dissident Feminisms," held in Berea, KY, June 16-18, 2023.
Cruz, Huntington-Moskos, Marklein, Pumphrey, and Snyder presented a panel on "Community Engaged Research and the Legacy of bell hooks," where they discussed their work with communities in Kentucky around themes of indigenous language, environmental health literacy, cemetery work,

The Panama Program is back on for 2023!
Travel to Panama with Communications, Political Science, and Latin American and Latino Studies this summer!
This 3-week study abroad program includes six credit hours and a number of experiences to immerse yourself in Panamanian culture. The total trip fee is $3,750 and covers tuition, round trip airfare, transportation while in Panama, and accommodations that include Wi-Fi, laundry, and breakfast.
All participating students will take LALS 313/ML 551: Panamanian Culture, and have the choice between POLS 399/LALS 321: Central American Politics or COM 350: Intercultural Communication. All courses are 3 credit hours and taught in English.
