Each summer, Ballard's Engineering department, in collaboration with the University of Louisville's Speed School, hosts an immersive engineering camp for incoming 8th and 9th grade students. Over the course of four days, participants delve into three comprehensive engineering topics.

The program commences with 3D modeling and the construction of a labyrinth maze, designed by the students themselves. Next, students engage in building and coding robots utilizing the Vex Exp system, incorporating various sensors to compete in games such as sumo wrestling. Finally, students receive their own Arduino kits, learning to breadboard and build intricate circuits, including a functional stoplight and Simon Says game.

Throughout this four-day experience, students gain insight into the daily life of engineering students, the cutting-edge equipment available, and the expectations of Ballard's STEM program.

Can you help us reunite a Ballard High School class ring with its owner?

A Ballard High School class ring was recently found in Baltimore, Maryland, and the person who found it would love to get it back to its rightful owner.

The ring appears to be from Ballard High School in Louisville, KY, featuring the Bruin mascot and a red gemstone.

📣 Ballard alumni: Please share this post! The owner, or someone who knows the owner, may be in our alumni community.

To claim the ring, the owner will need to provide:�• Their year of graduation�• What is inscribed inside the ring

We’ll use those details to verify that it belongs to you before connecting you with the person who found it.

Earlier this semester, our Automation Engineering students had the unique opportunity to tour GE Appliance Park. Students met with employees from various departments and had guided tours of AP3, AP4, a Metrology Lab, and even the new Coconut Line!

Congratulations to Maya Ciriano and Lauren Iglehart for being selected as the winners of the LouCity & Racing T-Shirt Design Contest! Maya and Lauren were recognized during the match on May 30th.

Their t-shirts are currently available for purchase at the LouCity Team Store. Proceeds benefit the LouCity & Racing Foundation, bringing soccer to all communities.
