Guard can feel like an infinite decision tree. Fifty-fifty, spider, lasso, worm — new names every year, new things to memorize.
Zoom out far enough and it collapses into four choices: stall, sweep, submit, stand up. Every guard you'll ever play is a setup for one of these.
And no guard is good at all four. Some are built to hold you down and finish. Some are built to move and get you back to your feet. Neither one is wrong — that's just the trade.
Save this for the next time guard feels like too much to think about.

It’s always such a pleasure getting to work with Louisville Metro EMS. It speaks volumes that LMEMS is this committed to ensure that their staff is trained and prepared for all the wild encounters they’re likely to come across. We had an absolute blast. Can’t wait until the next one.
