Today our Sacred Heart Schools community gathered for Commissioning Day, celebrating the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year and embracing the theme: Act, Move, Believe. What a joy to be reunited with faculty and staff across our four campus schools after a restful and relaxing summer!

After Mass in the Ursuline Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, SHS President, Dr. Karen McNay, welcomed more than 425 dedicated administration, faculty, and staff members back to the Ursuline Campus and walked through Sacred Heart Schools' new 2026-2031 Strategic Plan: Act, Move, Believe, including the plan's five aspirations. Sister Jean Anne Zappa, President of the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, and Amy Olson, VP of Mission and Community at Sacred Heart Schools, also spoke to faculty and staff who are excited to begin the school year. Special thanks to Fr. John Pozhathuparambil, Director of Campus Ministry and theology teacher at Bellarmine University, for celebrating Mass and giving an inspirational homily, and guest speaker Cory Lockhart '91, for guiding employees on a journey to cultivate the Ursuline Core Values in everyday life.

Sacred Heart is excited to welcome students back to the Ursuline Campus!

As we begin the 2026-27 school year, Sacred Heart Schools President, Dr. Karen McNay, calls us to embrace the powerful words of St. Angela Merici, foundress of the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville: "Act, move, believe, strive, hope, cry out to Him with all your heart, for without doubt you will see marvelous things."

Act, Move, Believe. These powerful words inspire the five aspiration statements that will guide our new Strategic Plan through 2031. We invite you to learn more about the 2026-2031 Sacred Heart School Strategic Plan at https://www.shslou.org/apps/pages/about/strategic-plan.
