Mrs. Roberts leads with heart, dedication, and a true love for our Dixie Dragons. She works tirelessly to support our students, encourage our staff, and make Dixie Elementary a special place. Her leadership, kindness, and commitment to our school community do not go unnoticed!

What a special day it was at Dixie Elementary! We loved seeing so many of our K–2 students’ special persons join us for lunch today. 🥰🍎 It was wonderful to see the smiles, hugs, and special memories being made with our Dragons and the people who mean so much to them!
Our 3rd–5th Grade Special Persons Lunch will be held in the spring, and we can’t wait to welcome even more of our Dixie families then! ❤️

When a child lies, it can hit a nerve. You might feel worried, angry, or wonder, “Can I trust them?”

But many children lie because they are scared of getting in trouble, ashamed of a mistake, trying to avoid disappointing someone, or simply testing what happens next. That does not make the behaviour okay, but it does tell us something important: they may need help to feel safe enough to tell the truth.

The first few seconds matter. Shouting, labelling them a “liar”, or questioning them over and over can make honesty feel even riskier next time.

Try a calm pause. Then say, “Tell me what really happened. You’re not in trouble for being honest.” Ask what made it hard to tell the truth, and focus on putting things right together.

A broken rule still needs a consequence. A damaged item may need replacing. An apology may be needed. But children learn more from repair and honest conversation than from shame.

And when they do tell the truth, especially when it was hard, let them know you noticed. “Thank you for telling me. I know that wasn’t easy.”

Help us get ready for our BIGGEST EVENT! Let's feed the Dixie Monster - bring in unopened bags of candy for our Trunk or Treat! The primary class (K-2) and intermediate class (3-5) who bring in the MOST bags of candy will each get a pizza party!
