Fern Creek High School JROTC

As we begin the summer the following class of 2026 MCJROTC Cadets have committed to serving their country in various branches of the United States Armed Forces or Academies.

United States Marine Corps: Nolyn Singleton, Justin Torres, Sebastan Rye and Dayana Ruiz

United States Navy: Clayton Hankins

Virginia Military Institute (VMI): Emerson Estes

Please keep these Cadets in your thoughts and prayers as they leave over the summer to start their Military Careers as well as the following former FCHS MCJROTC Cadets that are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces and stationed across the Country as well as around the Globe:

United States Army: Dylan Torres (2024)

United State Marine Corps: Jacob Wurfel, (2025) Yesenia Babauta (2025) and Elijah Dowell (2024)

Kentucky Army National Guard: Jessica Sanchez (2025)

Special thanks and recognition go to the parents and families of these graduated cadets as well as LtCol Angel and 1stSgt Foote who helped in shaping these graduates character. Remember less than 1% of Americans serve in the Armed Forces and all of these graduates are to be commended.

A special THANK YOU to Ms Elmore for all of her help and assistance during Camp Crooked Creek. Our Booster Moms play a vital part in our MCJROTC program at Fern Creek. Ms Santiago and Ms Reid also need to be recognized for their support and a HUGE THANK YOU given for the important part they have played these past few years in making our program what it is today.

Our MCJROTC Cadet Commander/Drill Captain Major Nathan Hankins completed his week of Summer Leaders Experience at The United States Military Academy at West Point.
Upon arrival by bus he and all Cadets were met by the upper class men Cadets who immediately let them know they had arrived at West Point!

During the week he attended classes on:

Leadership and Ethics
Squad Tactics in Combat
Mechanical Engineering
Chemistry and Rocket Fuel/Explosives

As well as familiarization and firing with the M16 rifle and 240B MG.

Physical Fitness played a big part in the Cadet experience to include:

Daily Physical Training
PT competition among Cadets

As well as taking his first Graded Physical Fitness Test and passing consisting of:

Mile Run
Pushup’s
Sit-ups
Pull-ups
Basketball Throw

Also his initial interview was conducted at the conclusion of the week.

Special THANKS to LtCol Angel and 1st Sgt Foote for their support and assistance in making this possible. So much was learned in the week and can be used during the upcoming year as well moving the application process forward.

Congratulations to FC MCJROTC Cadet SgtMaj Elmore for being selected as the Distinguished Alpha Company Cadet at Camp Crooked Creek. AWESOME job SgtMaj!! The award was presented by Colonel Sikorsky and CSM Hooper U.S. Army ROTC. Our cadets lead the way!

CONGRATULATIONS to the class of 2026 Fern Creek HS MCJROTC Graduates!!! We wish you all the BEST!!!

Our FC MCJROTC program was proudly represented by two outstanding cadets during the Roll Call Foundation in Hillview this past week. Cadet Gocke and Cadet Perez not only volunteered their time for three days in our community, but represented our program at the highest standard!
