Louisville's biggest tradition is racing around the corner! It's Derby week! 🐎

Check out these photos taken at the Pegasus Pedalathon competition for University of Louisville students at Fairgrounds Motor Speedway on April 28, 1968. The Pegasus Pedalathon was a bicycle/tricycle racing competition for Greeks and other student groups held to celebrate the Kentucky Derby.

Kosair for Kids and UofL announce expansion of facility for children recovering from spinal cord injury | UofL News 04/21/2025

The University of Louisville and Kosair for Kids will dramatically expand capacity and improve services provided through the Kosair for Kids Center for Pediatric NeuroRecovery.

Supported by Kosair for Kids, UofL will renovate the fourth floor of UofL Health - Frazier Rehabilitation Institute, creating a state-of-the-art space that consolidates all therapy, research and clinical services for the center. Integrating these functions will enhance research collaboration, improve patient care and increase treatment capacity by 50%, allowing up to 24 children per day to receive life-changing therapies.

UofL selects North Dakota's Henley to lead College of Business | UofL News 04/18/2025

The University of Louisville has hired Amy Henley, dean and professor of management at the University of North Dakota’s Nistler College of Business & Public Administration, to be dean of its College of Business.

“Dr. Henley has extensive leadership experience, is adept at building alumni relationships, strongly supports academic research and has a history of building ties with the business, government and nonprofit communities,” said UofL interim Provost Katie Cardarelli. “I believe she will be a great fit here and will take the UofL College of Business to an even higher level.”

An idea that took root in 2016 is bearing fruit for high school students, UofL students, and may even be slowly reshaping the health care workforce in Louisville. UofL’s partnership program for medicine with Central High School was the idea of Dwayne Compton, senior associate dean for community engagement at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

“At that time, a large number of us from the School of Medicine, Jefferson County Public Schools and the mayor’s office had a meeting about how we, as a school, could partner with JCPS,” said Compton.
