Hello FB friends and family. Over the last couple months, several of you have reached out to me regarding a CCDW class. I have finally spoken with my co-instructor and we have come up with a few dates and a location when we can teach.
I’m planning on holding classes on one or more of the following dates... September 27th, October 4th, October 18th(optional - last resort), October 25th, November 1st and November 8th.

Information for the upcoming Conceal Carry CCDW class. Feel free to bring a friend to class.

REQUIRED: 1) must be 21 years of age on the day of the class,2) must be a Kentucky resident with a Kentucky Driver’s license and live in any city/county in Kentucky.
CLASS: The class is 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Location TBD
After the classroom session, we will go to the gun range for qualifications.
COST: the class fee is $75.00 (cash, money order, MC, VISA or you can use PAYPAL or the VENMO app. The VENMO App is a free downloadable app that securely transfers money from either a credit or debit card or a bank account.) which includes the class instruction fee, the State required target, and sending in all required State application forms. There is an extra $10 gun range fee due at the range.
NOTE: Due to high demand, we request payment before being enrolled in the class. By using MC, VISA, PayPal or the Venmo app, you will not be charged until the day of class. Providing your card or using the app strictly holds your spot in class. You can pay the day of class.
I will send the required state forms to the KY State Police for processing. You should receive your first certificate in an estimated 10 – 15 days (2 – 3 weeks) from the KY State Police.
LUNCH: Bring your own lunch. There will be two (5 minute) breaks and one (15-20 minute) lunch break.
What you need to bring to class:
1. Bring the gun you wish to use, if you have one, plus the ammo. Be prepared to break it down and reassemble, if it is a semiautomatic
a. Let me know if you cannot bring your own to class (it’s not a problem if you don’t bring one,) I can provide one for you to use at no cost.
2. Ear plugs, if you have them. If not, they are provided free at the range
3. Clear safety glasses, if you have them. If not, they are provided free at the range
4. Bring a gun cleaning kit for the gun you bring to class, if you bring one
STATE REQUIREMENT: The classroom session is a state required minimum of 6 hours, not to exceed 8 hours, plus the range qualification of firing 20 rounds, at 21 feet. Let me know if you do not own a gun. Also, if shopping for a gun, I can share a list of gun brand names, where to buy, we can discuss in class. I can also recommend where to get the cleaning kit, ear plugs, and safety glasses.

NOTE: The total time for the instruction is 8:00 – 2:30 (classroom), and drive time to the range is approximately 20 minutes (go out I-64), qualifying on the range time is approx 5-10 minutes per person. We should be finished by approx 4:00-4:30 PM.

DIRECTIONS TO THE GUN RANGE IN SHELBYVILLE: From I-64, take Exit 35 North onto Hwy 53. At the 3rd Red Light, turn Right (at the McDonalds) onto U.S.60. About 1 mile on the Right (across from Masonic Home) turn down the road to The Shelby Co. School Bus Garage Parking lot, you will see Shooter Roost Gun Range driveway (gravel road) on the left before the school bus parking lot. The address is: 820 Frankfort Rd, Shelbyville, KY 40065
