Match Day 2026 was incredible!

“Growing up, before discovering that I wanted to become a doctor, I could always envision myself serving and giving back to the country. Now, I get to serve my country and give back to patients in need. It’s truly a win-win,” said Gebhart.
Taylor Gebhart matched to the Emergency Medicine residency program at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas, the largest military hospital and the only facility within the Department of Defense with a Level I Trauma designation.
She's honored to represent a demographic that has been historically underrepresented in Army Emergency Medicine, and is acutely aware of the decades-long fight for visibility in these spaces.
“We’ve only just begun,” she said, paving the way for a long line of female military leaders to come.
We're proud to celebrate Taylor as a part of our first all-female Military Match class in over a decade. We can't wait to see the path you create!

It wasn't St. Patrick's luck that matched Becca Black with Madigan Army Medical Center in Lakewood, Washington; it was her long-standing desire to serve something larger than herself.
Black is one of three UofL students selected to participate in this year's Military Match, a program that pairs future physicians with residency training programs within the U.S. Armed Forces. In addition to completing rigorous clinical training, these residents also serve as commissioned officers, preparing to provide care to service members and their families around the world.
She is entering this next step of her life with an inspiring philosophy she plans to carry throughout her career: leadership is not just about rank; it is about lifting others as you climb.
Congratulations, Becca! We are proud to support you on your journey and best of luck as you enter this next phase of your career!

“I’ve always been someone who embraces challenges."
Taylore Baker's journey marks a masterclass in resilience. Coming from a family of Army veterans, she was inspired by the path that led to their success and was determined to follow in their footsteps and recently matched into psychiatry at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Killeen, Texas.
As a psychiatry resident, Baker will play a critical role in supporting the mental health and readiness of soldiers.
For Baker, this path is about more than her own success; it is about the power of representation.
“I think it’s important, especially in military medicine, for women to see themselves in these officer and leadership positions,” Baker said. “It reminds you that it can be done and the difficulties we all share are not impossible to overcome.”
Congratulations, Taylore! We are happy to celebrate your accomplishments with you and cannot wait to see where your white coat takes you.
