Today is Dolly Parton Day, 9/25, and to honor her and her incredible passion for childhood literacy, we took a page out of Dolly’s book! The entire school dropped everything and read for 9 minutes and 25 seconds.

“If you can read, you can do anything, dream anything, and be anything.” -Dolly Parton

Thank you, Dolly, for inspiring our students to dream big and read more!

It’s Dolly Day! To celebrate 9/25, we rolled the treat cart straight to classrooms so our hardworking teachers could pour themselves a cup of ambition to start the day. Thanks to our incredible staff for working beyond 9 to 5 every day to make a difference! And a special shout out to Chick-fil-A St. Matthews for the donation of ambition!

Our amazing PTA spoiled our staff today with a delicious apple nacho bar. An apple a day keeps the worries away - especially when it’s covered in goodies! We are so lucky to have a PTA that makes us feel special. They help make SME a sweet place to be!

Happy Friday from a few of our Tigers! We celebrated this week after our first mystery reader visited. At SME, we are family!

Our Tigers have spirit, yes we do! 🐾 Yesterday, we gathered for our very first school-wide family meeting of the year. Not only did our students bring their best energy, but they completely rocked the school song! 🎶🎉Thank you to all our staff and students for making our first community gathering so special. Check out that incredible Tiger pride!

Today, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers in our community and across our country.

We’re especially grateful for the teachers, staff, families, and friends who work every day to make the SME community so special.
