Congratulations to Dr. Marsha Berry on 40 years with Goodwill Kentucky!
Goodwillers gathered at the West Louisville Opportunity Center to celebrate Dr. Berry’s incredible milestone and the impact she has made across our organization since joining Goodwill in 1986.
Today, Dr. Berry serves as director of The Excel Center®, but her leadership has shaped so many areas of our mission over the years. Her commitment to serving individuals facing barriers to opportunity has been recognized beyond Goodwill Kentucky, including receiving the Edgar J. Helms Award in 1998, one of the highest honors presented by Goodwill Industries International.
Dr. Berry, thank you for 40 years of leadership, service and dedication to Goodwill’s mission. We are grateful for you!

A big thank you to the College Info Road Show and the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) for visiting The Excel Center!
Students had the opportunity to meet with KHEAA staff and get support with the FAFSA, an important step in exploring financial aid options and planning for what comes next after graduation.
We’re grateful for partners who help make college and career pathways feel more accessible for our students. 🎓

Last Friday, we welcomed back graduates from the Excel Center classes of 2023 through 2025 for a special alumni event.
From catching up with teachers to hearing firsthand what life looks like after graduation, the room was full of stories, growth, and real progress. Each conversation was a reminder that the work doesn’t stop at graduation—it continues in every next step our alumni take.
To everyone who came back to share your journey, thank you. Your successes are exactly why this work matters, and we are so proud to be part of your story.

Last week, we celebrated the end of term with another group of seniors at The Excel Center.
These students have worked incredibly hard to make their education a priority while balancing jobs, families, and everything life brings. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment to their goals is something worth celebrating.
We marked the moment with lunch, shared memories, and inspiring words from teachers and staff who have walked alongside them every step of the way.
See you at graduation!

Senior Spotlight - ChiShay Brown
What ChiShay’s Says:
“My past wasn’t straight, I got lost along the way… I was suppose to graduate 2016, but my journey took a different path. I fell at 17, but I chose to rise again at 26. The Excel Center helped me turn my pain into purpose and reminded me my story was not over. 10 years later, I will graduate in 2026! Much stronger, wiser, and ready to help others believe their comeback is possible…just keep swimming.”

Senior Spotlight - Dakota Moore
What Dakota’s Says:
“My advice to future seniors is to not give up on yourself, even if you feel behind. Even on the days that you are struggling just don’t give up. Sometimes, progress might feel slow at first, sometimes you might not even notice it, but in the end it adds up. Ask for help when you need it, believe in yourself, and remember that someone here at the Excel Center is rooting for you, whether it be a life coach, a teacher, a fellow student, or the friendly faces up front.”
“After graduating, I plan to start working toward a career in the medical field. I’m interested in becoming a phlebotomist and gaining medical experience working in a hospital. While working, I hope to continue my education and eventually earn an associate degree so I can keep growing in the healthcare field. My goal is to do meaningful work that helps people.”
