Kudos to three-time UofL graduate Eddie Bobbitt who recently took the dance floor for Southern Indiana Dancing with the Stars, raising more than $300,000 for Hosparus Health, which cared for his mother before she passed away from cancer.

The night brought an unexpected UofL connection: Eddie’s dance partner, Irina Yevtenko, was once his advisee. While Eddie didn’t remember her right away, Irina remembered the impact his advising had on her undergraduate experience.

Kudos to the Bullitt County Public School teacher apprentices! One of the Office of Educator Excellence’s Bullitt County Public School teacher apprentices is already gaining valuable hands-on experience in the classroom! Here, she is taking the lead on a math lesson and helping students strengthen their understanding of place value through modeling, questioning and guided practice. These opportunities allow our teacher apprentices to move beyond simply observing and begin actively working with students, leading instruction and developing their own teaching skills. Through our partnership with Bullitt County Public Schools, apprentices are building confidence and gaining meaningful classroom experience while still in high school, giving them a strong foundation as they continue their journey to become educators at the University of Louisville.
