Hello everyone! Just a few announcements and events:
Our monthly chapter meeting will be tomorrow (Wednesday, 3/22) at noon in WS Speed 108.
This Thursday night (3/23), at around 7 PM we will be having a recreational bowling night at Executive Strike & Spare near the Expo Center. This will be a great event to get to know everyone going to competition better, so please join us! You can message us with any questions.
Finally, we will be having a fundraising night at Griff's in Card Towne next Wednesday night (3/29) from 4-9 PM. Please RSVP at thw link below if you think you can make it at all! This will help fund our regional competitions.

Hello all!
We will be having our monthly chapter meeting this Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at noon in WS Speed 108.
We will be hosting a speaker, Mr. Adam Westermann of Black & Veatch. The following bio gives a little information about him:
Mr. Adam Westermann holds a Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in Civil Engineering. He has been employed at Black & Veatch for 15 years and is a registered Professional Engineer. Mr. Westermann’s experience includes preliminary and detailed design, along with construction administration for water and wastewater treatment plants.
We hope to see you all there to listen in on the opportunities of consulting, especially from Black & Veatch!

Hey everyone! The annual Ohio Valley Student Conference is about 2 months away, and we're working hard to represent UofL well at the competition. REMINDER:
We will be hosting our invited speaker, Mr. Larry Chaney (Director of Transportation, KIPDA) today from 12 to 1 PM in W.S. Speed 108. The topic will be "Metropolitan Transportation Planning: Shaping Our Future." Free pizza lunch will be provided to members who are able to attend.

Upcoming events:
The 2017 MathCounts competition is on Saturday, February 18th and is in need of volunteers available to help out. The morning competition is in Ernst Hall at UofL, and volunteers will sign up in the main lobby. Anyone available to be there from 8:30 am to 12 pm will be provided free pizza for lunch. Free parking will be available behind the building. No preparation is required, just show up on the 18th and you will be placed where needed!
Also, the Region 4 Daniel V. Terrell Paper Competition is now open to Younger Members, and must be submitted by March 1, 2017. There are 1st and 2nd place cash prizes for the top papers. Any members interested in the complete rules and guidelines, as well as the prompt for the competition can follow the link below for more information!

The 47th Ohio River Valley Soils Seminar (ORVSS XLVII) will be presenting the Geotechnical aspects of the Louisville – Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project.
