🎉 Congratulations to second-year MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner student Susil Dhaurali, RN — and now — CPN!

Susil just passed his certification to become a Certified Pediatric Nurse. CPNs are specialists in infant, child, and adolescent healthcare.

This certification required thousands of hours of pediatric clinical experience before passing an exam administered by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).

Susil plans to continue in pediatrics as a nurse practitioner after completing his MSN degree. We’re so proud of his dedication and achievements!

First day of class for new Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students: Advanced Health Assessment! 

In this class, students learned how to write SOAP notes 📝, collaborating in groups with four faculty members for support and instruction. Up next, these students will move into the lab and begin learning physical exam techniques weekly! 

Small cohort sizes and an 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio mean our students get to know, work with, and rely on each other — and our instructors — throughout their degree programs. That’s just one of the reasons why so many Spalding University School of Nursing students were referred by our program alumni!

This cohort of MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner students just got their white coats and are ready to start their first clinical rotations! We love the energy and joy they bring to every class, and we know they’re going to bring that same spirit to their excellent patient care 🥹💪

We all know that maintaining physical health is an ongoing process of incorporating small habits into our daily lives: eating healthfully, getting exercise, staying hydrated, etc. 

Our mental health is no different 🧠💪

Mental wellness is built through small daily habits, repeated over time — whether it’s getting enough sleep, getting out of the house, (or getting out of your own head 😬).
