Known for his power, big hits, and explosive plays. Here we have a College World Series player putting that aside and doing what’s best for his team. Does he have the power to hit one out here? Yes. Would he have loved to do that? Yes.
But, instead, he is willing to sacrifice himself for the team. Not only does he attempt it, he executes it perfectly. Gets the early bounce so the runners can advance immediately and all.
The bunt creates havoc as we all know, so yes, he also reaches safely.
Either way, he moves the runners. Two batters later, Eddie King Jr. sends one to deep center to score the winning run who wouldn’t have scored from second base.

Why the ability to throw strikes is important. 🎯
In 6 of 8 wild card games (75%) the winning team had the higher strike percentage.
Only once the losing team had the higher strike percentage (G2 Ranger/Rays).
The other game (G2 Marlins/Phillies) each team had the same strike percentage.
High velocity is wonderful. But, if you don’t throw strikes, you don’t give your defense a chance to help you and you’ll be behind in counts so hitters will be ready for your fastball regardless of your speed.
Fundamentals and mechanics matter.
