Ransom Fellowship School is currently ranked first (up from sixth place) in the state by the Celebrating Art national contest! Congratulations to all summer art students who were published in the summer edition of Celebrating Art.

Today students received a visit from Mr. Mike Russell of Excellence in Construction, L.L.C. who showed them how to make an ellipse and discussed the qualities of an ellipse vs a circle with some construction tools. The students are studying Kepler's three planetary laws, and with this lesson are better able to understand the significance of Kepler's discovery about the elliptical orbit of the planets with the sun as a foci.

Students enjoyed a day at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest today taking in the fall beauty and learning about varieties of medicinal and edible plants.

Congratulations to Naomi Russell, Anna Grace Colliver, Evelyn Irvine, Sebi Trevino, Isaiah Russell, Lizzy George, Mary George, Grace Dively, Adele Whitley, Madelynn Brinson, Leah Manche, Ansley Manche, and Summer Wilkerson who have all been accepted to be published in the Celebrating Art National Contest. This week students completed a Greek calligraphy project based on scripture art by St. Nectarios of Aegina and complimenting their beginning Greek study. "We ought to do everything we can for the acquisition of virtue and moral wisdom (phronesis), for the prize is beautiful and the hope great."~ St. Nectarios

Today we welcomed our middle school core program class for 2023-24. It was a great day of making new friends and getting into a new routine. We ended with our now established annual tradition of a spaghetti and marshmellow building competition. Congratulations to Stephen Davis and Benedict Lewis on the victory!
