I always say, s*xuality is our essence!✨

But what is the value of knowing your s*xuality?

And understanding your s*xual story compared to the other things that you have on my priority list, or of your value system?

It is not just what it is individually but collectively.

It could also be what we were taught growing up about our s*xuality, and not knowing the whole point of it.

This is a pretty deep and important conversation to have with yourself.

With the shift of my career to a solo private practice and media/teaching I don’t get the chance to BE with many therapists and counselors often. Love being around so many today.

This is a subject I am FIRED up about. If you’ve heard me speak about it, you would hear me get passionate about advocating for this change in my profession. Therapists/counselors are not required to have one class in their training about human s*xuality. Yet s*xuality is an integral part of our human experience and relationships. How absurd is it that we don’t have ONE class that focuses on s*xuality? On a mission to change this. (Florida actually is a state that does require this for licensure).

I love seeing this as I check in to present today!

16 years ago, my life changed forever. The loss of a loved one becomes a timestamp. Something you look at as before and after. The women before this tragic and unexpected loss took a lot for granted. Time was at the top of that list. This woman was both frozen and in constant motion. She felt destroyed. And the woman after wanted to live life for him and then realized I needed to live it for me.  I dove into work. I eventually married. I learned to go to football games and not dread phone calls. I wrote a lot.  I talked a lot. I stayed in silence a lot. I sought God, and I sought connection. The Woman After lost some innocence but also gained a depth of compassion that is hard to describe.  

I am a different woman because of being loved by him and loving him, and I am a changed woman because of his death. Chris was a part of my love journey and my life journey, and he is an integral part of the Woman Before, The Woman During, and The Woman After. Love you always. 💛💛💛

Love is a word that is often left out of s*x education and exploration. But it has a place in s*xuality. An important one. Let this topic be a place to examine positive and negative messages received about love’s place within s*xuality as well as an exploration of the place of love within s*xuality.😆💕🥰
