🗓️ UPDATE | The Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBE) approved an updated 2023-24 school calendar that:

➡️ Forgives four missed instructional days
➡️ Changes Nov. 6, 2023 and Jan. 8, 2024 to regular school days for students and staff

Transportation issues led JCPS to close schools on Aug. 10, 11, and 14 through 17 for K-12 students and an additional day (Aug. 18) for high school students.

The updated 2023-24 school year calendar maintains all required pupil and employee days without lengthening the end of the school year despite the closures in August.

The JCBE forgave four instructional days that will not have to be made up and changed Nov. 6, 2023 and Jan. 8, 2024 to regular school days for students and staff. Previously, students were scheduled to be off on Nov. 6, which was a Professional Development Gold Day, and Jan. 8, which was a Non-Flex In-Service Day.

The last day of the 2023-24 school year for students will remain May 24, 2024.
