Cardinal Mock Trial

Hi everyone!
For the past two years, we have not been able to compete at tournaments because of our lack of members and funding. This year, we have successfully formed a team of 14 people and aspire to go to competitions and showcase our skills and passion for law and Mock Trial. In order for us to do that, we need your help and support. We are raising money so we can register for the American Mock Trial Association and sign up for the regional competition, and invitationals. Unfortunately, U of L will not be providing us any money for our team so we need all the help we can get. We would appreciate if you could help us fund our competitions by donating to our GoFundMe page. If you cannot contribute financially, please share this message to reach others. Introducing our Secretary, Taylor Cardwell!

Taylor is a junior double-majoring in Political Science and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. In high school, she participated in a mock trial program at Stanford. Outside of school, Taylor has worked for various Democratic campaigns. In her free time, she loves to read, go to the gym, and take her dog to the Bark Park. Taylor is looking forward to the upcoming year and cannot wait to meet the rest of the Cardinal Mock Trial team!

Introducing our second Financial Officer, Jenny Mitchell!

Jenny Mitchell is a sophomore majoring in Political Science on the law and public policy track. She’s also working towards minors in economics and history. This will be her first year on a mock trial team and she’s very exited to see what this year brings! In her free time, she loves hanging out with friends and going on adventures!

Abigail is a freshman Grawemeyer Scholar majoring in History with a minor in Political Science. This is Abigail’s first year on the mock trial team. Abigail is originally from Marshall County, KY where she was active in the Kentucky Junior Historical Society and Kentucky YMCA, among other activities. In her free time, Abigail loves to read, hang out on the lake, and make memories with her friends and family. Abigail is ecstatic about this upcoming year, and cannot wait to see where Cardinal MT takes her.

Nadeen is a freshman majoring in Political Science on the Law and Public Policy track. She joined the mock trial team in high school as a sophomore and it immediately became her passion, she later on became the MT captain at duPont Manual. Outside of school she is a legal intern. In her free time, she loves cooking, listening to music, and spending quality time with friends. She is super excited for the upcoming year, and can’t wait to make new friends and lead the amazing Cardinal MT.

Sowmya is a Junior majoring in Accounting with a minor in Economics and Psychology. This is Sowmya’s 6th year doing Mock Trial. She has started up and coaches the Meyzeek Middle Mock Trial Team. She is super excited for the upcoming year and can’t wait to lead an amazing team. In her free time, Sowmya loves to hangout with her friends and family and loves to dance!
