BMEN was recognized as a community partner in JCPS. In four years, we have served hundreds of students and worked with 3rd - 12 graders across 30+ schools to enhance their academic performance.

Heart. Dedication. Love. Service. Scholarship. Aptitude.

The work continues!

This week, we capped off an incredible year of programming with 11 schools. This year, our scholars learned about the Meaning in the Music, Social Determinants of Health, LinkedIn & Professional Profiles, Conflict Management, Upskilling, Causes of Gun Violence in Louisville, Ky and Resume Building.

Since October 2025 to May 2026, we worked with 150+ students across grades 3rd - 12th in weekly academic enrichment sessions. We grew together, challenged one another, established accountability, and had some fun along the way too.

Special shout out to our school partners this year!

Change starts with us. ✊🏾 Through the work of Black Male EDquity Network, we’re creating pathways for young men to thrive—expanding access to education, economic mobility, and leadership opportunities that transform lives and communities.

Gun violence and systemic barriers continue to impact our neighborhoods, but we believe in solutions rooted in empowerment, mentorship, and equity. When we invest in men and boys, we invest in safer streets, stronger families, and a brighter future for all.

This is more than a moment—it’s a movement. A commitment to advocacy, opportunity, and lasting change.

Support the mission. Share the message. Be the difference.

BMEN will be hosting its 2026 Community Restoration and Mental Health Seminar. This event will include the importance of self-care, mental health, and conflict resolution. Each topic is incredibly important for the times in which we live, especially for Black male youth and adults, who may face a variety of challenges at home and in the community that impede their progress towards healthy living, educational achievement, or being noble citizens in our country.

Thank you, Marresa Burke WAVE News & WAVE for the coverage.

For the past few months, our high school students have been studying the causes and lasting effects of gun violence for Black males 👨🏾. This problem has negatively impacted the city of Louisville, Ky unlike many other cities in the United States. We have looked at data 📈 to better understand when homicides happen and during what hours, along with the demographics impacted the most.

Our seminar will bring us together in one space to share, discuss, and be transparent about causes of conflict and ways to de-escalate tension in the heat of the moment.

All of our lives are valuable, so we will define our values and learn better practices for our mental health 🏥

Special thanks to our partners and supporters of this project: , , ,
