We would like everyone to welcome our New Band Director, Mr. Dorris 👏🏽👏🏽

We would like to welcome Mr. Tommie Dorris to our Wildcat Team. He will be our band director for the upcoming school year. Below you will find a brief bio on his many accolades and accomplishments during his career in education.

From Mr. Tommie Dorris- I am a third generational educator. I attended South Panola School District. I have been in music since the fourth grade, taking drum lessons and playing drum set for our community choir headed by my oldest brother. I have been in the SP band program from the sixth grade throughout my high school years. I have received band scholarships and degrees from Northwest Community College, University of Mississippi, Jackson State University, and Walden University. I have been teaching for 25 years, from first grade throughout twelfth grade and the community college level. I became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity in the Fall of 1988 at the University of Mississippi. I became a minister in 1994 while living in Jackson, MS. I have been on multiple boards as well as the Mayor of my community from 2018-2021. I am pleased to be coming to the Louisville School District as director of bands at Louisville High School to continue the legacy of the award-winning band program. I am praying and looking forward to joining the team to make a difference for every student I contact as a teacher at Louisville High School. I am Tommie Lee Dorris, and thanks for the opportunity to share in music education.
