Follow Dr Tucker while she is serving in Alaska! This is the latest post and pictures!

Being in Anchorage last weekend was refreshment for my soul. I did everything from axe throwing with the district I work with to making new friends. Met the superintendent of the school and had a great time getting to know her. Being able to eat in a restaurant was great as well as seeing a really huge snowman and a reindeer that is actually someone’s pet. The big news is still the cold cold temperatures. -31 was the coldest I was in this week. And what do you do when it is so cold the trucks won’t start?? You bundle up as best you can and walk the half mile. Today it was a balmy 1 degree. But school continues. We did a great Science experiment and because Becky Tucker Howard sent a wonderful package the kids were introduced to cheese whiz and LOVED it! A wolf pack walked around the village and you can hear them on the other side of the river . We did have our third Bible study which made my week! Keep praying the hearts and minds of the village will be open.

Meet Emma Cann !!! 🍎❤️

Emma is a sophomore in the teacher education program here at Boyce College!

Emma’s favorite thing about TEP is:
“Learning how to cultivate excitement and genuine care for students in the classroom. Our program gets us in schools and teaching right away which grows my love for and confidence in teaching all the more!

I can’t wait to have my own classroom and be in these little kids’ lives! Children have just as many questions and emotions as adults, so its a heavy but joyful thought to come along side them in the name of Jesus!”

Thank you Emma for modeling a a faithful heart for the Lord both inside and outside the classroom!

WE LOVE TEP!!!

Today in our teaching math class we were able to present mini lessons. Students were able to practice teaching a lesson and hearing feedback from other students in the class. We are thankful for opportunities like these to grow and learn with our fellow classmates!
