A lovely weekend birding, planting mushrooms in the yard, playing in the creek, and trying to acclimate the chickens to each other.

My personal ig, , started because I would record the first bird to sing that day, then free-write every thought in my head on my back yard table while it was barely light out.

I stepped away from this practice for a long time out of necessity. I realized last week that I've been reluctant to step back into it because I've had to step away so many times.

I bought some lightweight binoculars in anticipation of time to do more birding this summer. The patch on the stock case was ugly and too promotional. I fixed it. (If you try this, you will have to sew the clasp back on because they sewed the patch and the clasp in one go, but my new BFF* has it under control.) *Birding Friend Forever
