What a fantastic first day back! 💙💛 We kicked off the morning with festive carpool lines, lots of hugs, and cheerful greetings, followed by our annual Coffee in the Quad, where families had a chance to reconnect and catch up.

Today, our campus was filled with excitement as new and returning KCD families gathered to kick off the school year at Meet the Teacher! Students had a first look into their classrooms, met their new teachers, organized their lockers, and enjoyed a sweet popsicle in the Commons.

Join us for an evening of school spirit before we cheer on the Varsity Football team during their home opener against Sayre at 7:30 pm at Monohan Field. Fresh off their 2025 State Championship win, the Bearcats are ready for another exciting season!

Our seniors are gearing up for their next chapters! This week, our college counselors hosted their annual College Application & Essay Workshop. From brainstorming ideas to strengthening their personal statements, students gained valuable guidance and feedback to help them apply to colleges and universities with confidence. We can’t wait to see where their journeys take them! 💙💛

Congratulations to Graham White ’29, Emily Prentice ’29, and Cooper Barrow ’29, whose physics photos and accompanying essays were chosen by the American Association of Physics Teachers to be published in the top 100! Approximately 500 students from around the country enter photos to this competition annually, and ten students from KCD were chosen to submit entries this past May. The photos must be taken by the student, demonstrate a physics phenomenon, and include an essay describing the physics they photographed.

We are excited to have several new faces joining the KCD community this year! 💙💛
