As we celebrate 100 years of Edward Best Elementary School , we’re looking back at the people and moments that helped shape its history.

Did you know? Edward Best Elementary School traces its name to Edward Leigh Best Sr., a North Carolina educator who dedicated his career to public education. In 1928, Edward Best High School in Franklin County was named in his honor.

FCS would like to take a moment to give a special shoutout to Toby! 🐶

Toby and his handler, Lt. Horton, are frequent visitors to FCS and continue to spread joy, comfort, and support throughout our district.

Toby is a therapy dog who plays an important role in supporting the well-being of our youth and first responders in Franklin County. We are grateful for the positive impact they bring to our schools and community!
