First grade had a blast on their second annual Doctor Day! We saw x-rays, made cards for patients, looked at real medical equipment, and even got to diagnose some furry friends! We also completed a skeleton challenge with q-tips, did a muscle lab where we practiced moving different muscle groups. Lastly, we made marshmallow "teeth" and practiced our healthy habits by brushing them; we ate our marshmallows and talked about their journey through the digestive system!

Hello Trevilians Families,



Here is the Trevilians Eagles Preview for the week of October 12-16.



As a reminder, there is no school for students on Monday or Tuesday this week due to a Staff Development Day and a Teacher Workday. Students will return to school on Wednesday. As a result, there will be no Extended Learning, Attendance Academy, or Chorus this week.



Our fall fundraiser will wrap up this week. If you haven’t started yet, it’s not too late. You can still register your 10 emails and earn some prizes. Every little bit helps us to reach our goals, and don’t forget that the entire school will have the opportunity to see an amazing assembly! We appreciate your help in raising money for special activities and incentives for our students.



On Thursday night, LCPS will host its annual Homecoming Parade at 6:00 in the town of Mineral. Come out and see all of the great floats, including the TES float created by the TES Honor Society.



On Friday, our kindergarten students will go on their field trip.



Report cards will be sent home with all students on Friday.

Our PE teacher, Mrs. Blanchard, sent the YMCA Water Safety permission forms home last week, so please turn those in if you haven’t already done so. Mrs. Covington’s and Mrs. Gentry’s classes will go on Thursday, Oct. 22, and Mrs. Peregoy’s and Mr. Cole’s classes will go Friday, Oct. 23. Students will need to bring: towel, change of clothes, plastic bag for wet swimwear, lunch if brought from home, and appropriate swimwear. On the day of their trip, students should come to school with their swimwear on underneath their clothes.



The Trevilians Kindness Closet will be open on Saturday October 17th from 9-11 AM. Feel free to stop by during that time to shop for your kids! We also have 3 racks for Halloween costumes for anyone still in need. If you cannot make it at that time, you are welcome to email [email protected] to set up a time that would work for you!

Here is some news from our PTA:

The PTA is hosting a candy drive for their upcoming trunk or treat event! If the school reaches their goal of 150 pounds of candy collected, there will be a surprise visit from Grandma Chiumento! Right now the school is at 15 pounds, so bring in the candy to make the Trunk or Treat event a success!

The PTA is also hosting a costume drive. Any gently worn costume is graciously appreciated. If you are in need of a costume, please reach out to Ms. Rudd at [email protected].

Boo Grams are on sale for $2 each or you may purchase whole class boo grams for $20. Sales end on October 23rd and will be passed out to your child on October 30th.

The PTA is still looking for trunks for their upcoming trunk or treat event on October 30th! Please refer to the flyer that was sent home for details on how to sign up.

Hello Trevilians Families,

This message is to inform you that our buses may be arriving earlier than usual to their stops this afternoon. Many students left early with their Grands today, so our buses will not have as many students on them as usual, which means they will not make quite as many stops. As a result, please make sure you arrive to your stop up to 10-15 minutes early so that you can be there when your students arrive. We appreciate your help with this. Have a great four-day weekend, and we'll see you on Wednesday.

Hello Trevilians Families,



Here is the Trevilians Eagles Preview for the week of October 5-9.



Extended Learning and Attendance Academy will take place on Monday and Tuesday this week, and Chorus will take place on Tuesday.



Our annual Fall Book Fair will be in full swing this week. Students will attend the Book Fair on their Library Resource day. The Book Fair will also be open for all students on Grands Day.



Grands’ Day is almost here! It will take place on Friday, October 9, from 9:00-11:00 AM. If you would still like to sign up, you can do so using the following link: Grands’ Day Sign-up Form. Parents, please remind your child’s Grands to bring their ID with them on Friday. Doors will open at 8:30 AM, and our Grands will be able to wait in the cafeteria until the festivities begin at 9:00 AM.



On Friday, students brought home information about our fall fundraiser. This year, we have the opportunity to earn an incentive for the entire school - an assembly starring a World Record holder and a YouTube star. The yellow form that students brought home says that students can attend this assembly if they raise a specific amount of money, but ALL students will be able to attend if we meet our school fundraising goals. More details about the fundraiser are included with the packet. Thanks for your help in raising money for our school, which will be used to purchase activities, events, and incentives for our students.

Hello Trevilians Families,



Here is the Trevilians Eagles Preview for the week of September 28-October 2.



This week, our Extended Learning and Attendance Academy programs will continue. They will take place on Monday and Tuesday and will end at 4:45. Chorus will also begin this week and will take place on Tuesdays until 4:45.



Our annual Fall Book Fair is ready to begin! Students will attend the Book Fair during their Resource classes. Students who have Resource on Friday will have an opportunity to attend the Book Fair this week. All other students will attend the Book Fair next week. The Book Fair will also be open for all students on Grands Day.



Picture Day is finally here! Our Fall Picture Day will be this Wednesday, September 30th. If you are ordering pictures by form, please make sure you send in the form on Wednesday. All students will have their picture taken on the 30th, even if you decide not to purchase them, as the pictures will also be used for our yearbook.



This Friday is National Custodians Day. Please join us in thanking Mr. Lettner, Mr. Gonzalez, Mr. Whalen, Mr. Woolfrey, Mr. Evans, and Mr. Robertson for all of their hard work in keeping our building clean and safe.



This Friday night is All-County Music Night at the LCHS football game. All students who turned in their form to Ms. Martin will perform at the event.

As a follow-up to our announcement last week about our new First in Math program, we want to clarify that the program is for students in grades 2-5. Usernames and passwords were sent home to those students last week.

Here is some news from our PTA:

- PTA is selling carnations for the upcoming Grands Day on October 9. You can purchase a carnation that will be given to your student’s Grand when they come to visit them on the 9th. - The PTA will continue supporting the Crayola Initiative at TES this week with our Crayon Drive. The Crayola Initiative is a program where used crayons are melted down and turned into specialized crayons for children in hospitals. So if you have any used, broken, or unwanted crayons, feel free to send them in with your student this week. The Crayon Drive will end on Friday. This initiative also fits perfectly with the LCPS Kindness Month initiative, which begins this week.

- To go along with this initiative, PTA will host a “Color the World in Kindness” Spirit Week this week. Here is the list of the special days for that week:

Monday 9/28- Red Day

Tuesday 9/29- Yellow and Green Day

Wednesday 9/30- Picture Day - bring a “colorful” smile for your picture!

Thursday 10/1- Blue Day "Kindness Day" - students will wear blue Team LCPS Kindness shirts that will be given to them that day

Friday 10/2- Wear ALL colors

- Finally, the PTA is looking for trunks to help make the Trunk or Treat a fun and memorable event for our students! If you would like to decorate a trunk and participate, please click the sign-up link included with the email sent or refer to the PTA's page.

Over the next several weeks, Mrs. West, our Speech/Language Pathologist, will conduct speech/language screenings for all Pre-K and kindergarten students and all new students in grades 1-3. These screenings will be completed by mid-October, and parents will be contacted if any concerns arise.
