This is an update. Following further evaluation of road conditions and widespread power outages this morning, multiple bus routes are impassable. To ensure the safety of students and staff, Lawrence County Schools will be CLOSED today, Monday, August 17. Stay safe today, LC!

Due to yesterday evening's storm, which left debris on roads and caused power outages, Lawrence County KY Schools will operate on a 1-hour delay today, Monday, August 17. Because our buses start early in the morning, this delay allows daylight for drivers and emergency teams to safely evaluate road conditions. Please travel safely. Any further updates will be shared through our normal channels.

In our region, school colors and district lines disappear when a neighboring community is hurting. We are one mountain family—and when one of us hurts, we all hurt.

This Monday, August 17, I will be wearing PINK in memory of Carissa (a Johnson County middle school student who passed last week) and in solidarity with her family, friends, and our neighbors to the south in Johnson County.

I invite any of our Lawrence County students, staff, and community members who would like to join me to wear pink on Monday as well. It’s a simple way to show our neighbors and her family that they aren't walking through this difficult time alone. 🩷

8th grade parents we are looking for help in our basketball concessions this fall.
Games are typically 5:30-8:30
If you are able to help, the money we raise goes toward the students 8th grade trip. We need at least two parents.

LC Schools Campus Improvement Underway!

If you've recently traveled along Bulldog Lane between Louisa Middle School and LCHS, you may have noticed some excavation work conducted by our LC School Maintenance Department! They are currently installing drains and adding gravel to create a safe walkway for our students on campus. We value the dedication of our maintenance staff and appreciate their swift progress on this important project for our students.
