"I would say to those of you who aren’t sure if this experience is for you, take a chance! It is going to be difficult but you will learn so much and you will not regret it. Be willing to try everything and be open to new ideas and to meeting new people." -Lindsey Knowlden

Are women the key to ending poverty? Countless programs and research projects seem to lead us in that direction. Se what happens when women in South Africa (or any developing country for that matter) are given the tools they need.

"At the UAC I had the pleasure of working with the Tourism Director, Jose Rodriguez. With Jose, I​ ​was able to write four grants for preservation of their orchid garden as well as a solar powered​ ​kitchen. My time there provided me with valuable experience working with the international​ ​community. I enjoyed the calm and solace of the Carmen Pampa campus which allowed me time to​ ​reflect on my work and my impact on the world as a whole. This time allowed me to reassess my​ ​goals in life and inspired me to continue to serve communities, whether in the United States or​ ​abroad. This experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity for which I am deeply grateful."
