Marcos Velazquez is a Siena College AmeriCorps VISTA Fellow. “Early on, as I learned about the Network for Youth Success, my community partner, I was inspired to see that they cared so much and worked so hard. This network of people across the state selflessly fight to protect and develop after school programming, for children they’ve never met! The work I am doing—whether I’m coordinating free trainings, developing our weekly newsletter, or working on projects with our regional networks across the state—is making a difference.” VISTAs are recruited from around America to provide a year of full-time service in the Capital Region. Sabrina Nabinger is a Siena College AmeriCorps VISTA Fellow. “I am so grateful to Hunger Solutions NY for giving me the opportunity to work on three different child nutrition programs during my VISTA year. This work has required me to improve skills related to data analysis, creating targeted outreach, and building strategic partnerships. Not only has it given me a better understanding of how the organization works to alleviate hunger but it also gives me the opportunity to find out what type of work I prefer the most.”
