Today, East Tennessee lost one of its brightest lights✨️

Dolly Parton may have called the mountains of Sevier County home, but she belonged to all of East Tennessee — and in so many ways, to all of us🫶

She carried the heart of these mountains with her everywhere she went. Through her music, her generosity, her love for children, her unmistakable kindness and the way she never forgot where she came from, Dolly showed the world something special about the place we are so blessed to call home🥹

Tonight, flags across our country are being lowered to half-staff in her honor — a fitting tribute to a Tennessee girl whose impact reached far beyond our state lines🇺🇸

From our little corner of East Tennessee in Historic Downtown Lenoir City, we join so many others in saying thank you, Dolly🦋

Thank you for the music.
Thank you for the laughter.
Thank you for the books.
Thank you for loving these mountains.
And thank you for making East Tennessee so incredibly proud.

Rest peacefully, Dolly. Your light will shine here for generations to come✨️

Loudon County 4 H is serving up a delicious lunch on 9/9/2026. See below if you’re interested in helping these 4H members meet their goal and enjoy lunch at the same time.
Our Loudon County 4 H Livestock Judging Team is working hard and preparing for an incredible opportunity to compete on a national level at the American Royal Livestock Judging Contest in Kansas City!
To help make this trip possible, our team is serving up a delicious hot lunch featuring a pork burger, two sides, and dessert for just $15. Every meal purchased helps support these students as they represent Loudon County on a national stage.

4-H Portfolio Workshop!

Are you in 6th–12th grade and interested in
working on your 4-H Portfolio to submit for Academic Conference, Congress, or Roundup? This workshop is for you!

Mark your calendars! We will be having a multi-county 4-H Portfolio Workshop to help you get started, answer questions, and give you the tools you need to build your portfolio.

Please bring a computer to work on your portfolio!

This is a FREE event!

Is your child in 4th-12th grade and interested in learning about archery? Join us for our 4-H Archery interest meeting on August 31st at 6:00PM at the Soil and Water Conservation office, 100 River Rd. Ste 112 Loudon, TN 37774!

Congratulations to our Loudon County 4-H Grill Masters on their accomplishments at the Eastern Region Grill Masters Contest yesterday!

Our Junior Team received 2nd place overall and was comprised of Kimsey Shanks, Luke Theobald, Brayden Hensley, and Henley Mathews.

Individual placings:
Kimsey Shanks – 2nd Place, Pork
Luke Theobald – 4th Place, Beef
Brayden Hensley – 2nd Place, Lamb
Henley Mathews – 7th Place, Poultry

Nate Lowery competed as a Junior Individual and brought home 1st Place in Pork!

Our Junior High Team was comprised of Luke Bilderback, Kenny Hensley, Harrison Mathews, and Gemma Majors.
