Check out this financial update from MVSD! 👀📢
The Merrimack Valley School District closed the fiscal year on June 30, 2026, with an unassigned fund balance of $2,363,884, driven by higher-than-expected revenues and unexpended appropriations. The deficit that the district had been navigating has been cleared!
On Monday, September 14th, MVSD School Board voted to retain $500,000 as a reserve for unanticipated expenses and emergencies. The remaining $1,863,884 will be returned to taxpayers as a reduction to the amount raised by local taxation when the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) sets the 2026 tax rates.
The District appreciates the ongoing support of its taxpayers and remains committed to the responsible management of public funds. The final impact on each town's school tax rate will depend on its share of the District assessment and its local valuation as determined by the Department of Revenue Administration (DRA).
It took a team effort to reach this financial outcome, one that would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our outstanding faculty and staff! Special thanks to our School Board, Business Administrator, Sam York, and former Superintendent, Dr. Wormald, for their leadership during this time.
