The first few weeks of school can feel overwhelming for many students. New schedules, longer days, homework, activities, and simply having to stay “on” for so many hours all require stamina that may need a little time to rebuild.
A few things can make that transition easier: keep sleep routines consistent, start homework in manageable chunks, prepare for the next day the night before, and make sure there is still room for snacks, movement, rest, and downtime. That last piece is as critical as any of the others. Just like any human, students need breaks and rest!
The goal in August isn’t to have every routine perfected. Rather, it’s to help students gradually build the habits and endurance that will carry them through the rest of the school year.
Progress over perfection: in the first few weeks and always. We hope everyone is having a great start to their school year!
