The School of Dreams Academy (SODA) is a New Mexico Charter School located in Valencia County serving approximately 500 students grades Pre K through 12th grades. WOW. Today’s SODA Cares Day was an INCREDIBLE success! 💙

We were completely wiped clean in less than an hour! 🙌 That tells us just how much this service is needed in our community and we are so grateful we were able to help so many SODA families and community members today.

But we have even BETTER news! 👏

📦 The next time we host this event (NEXT MONTH) we will have FOUR TIMES the amount of food and hygiene supplies! 🎉

We are committed to continuing to support our families and community in meaningful ways, and today showed us just how important these resources are.

SODA Cares Day 💙

We are excited to provide non-perishable food and hygiene items to our SODA families and members of our community through a convenient drive-through distribution.

📍 Event Details

Date: Monday, August 17th
Time: 11:00 AM–1:00 PM
Location: 906 Juan Perea Rd.
Drive-Through Location: Far cul-de-sac area of campus

🚗 Please Follow the Drive-Through Route

The distribution area has been intentionally set up in the far cul-de-sac area of campus, away from students and our main traffic areas. This will help ensure the event does not disrupt our students, daily routines, or the normal flow of campus.

Families and community members participating in the distribution should follow staff directions and proceed directly to the designated cul-de-sac area.

🔒 IMPORTANT AFTERNOON PICKUP REMINDER

For the Safety of Our Students & Staff

As a reminder, during afternoon dismissal, the School of Dreams Academy Front Office doors will be locked daily from 2:15 PM – 2:45 PM to help ensure the safety of our students, families, and staff while our dismissal process is underway.

🚫 No student pickups will be available after 2:15 PM until dismissal procedures are complete.
Please plan accordingly and make any necessary adjustments to appointments or schedules.

🚗 Parents/Guardians: Please remain in your vehicle while waiting in the pickup line.

For the safety of all students and staff:
✅ Entry into the parking lot during this time is not permitted.
✅ Please follow the designated flow of traffic.
✅ Remain in the pickup line and wait for your student to be released.

Afternoon dismissal includes increased vehicle traffic, buses arriving on campus, and many students moving throughout our school grounds. Your patience, cooperation, and support help us keep everyone safe.

📢 Important Attendance Information for SODA Families 📚💙

At School of Dreams Academy, we know that every day matters! This school year, we want to share important information about the New Mexico Attendance for Success Act (AFSA) and what it means for our students and families.

Under state law, schools are required to monitor attendance and provide support when students begin missing school. This includes all absences—excused, medical, and unexcused.

⚠️ Please don't be alarmed if you receive a phone call, email, or letter from our attendance team. State law requires schools to contact families when a student has missed more than 5% of the school year for any reason. These communications are meant to provide support and help ensure every student stays on track for success.

Our goal is to partner with families to:
✅ Encourage consistent attendance
✅ Identify concerns early
✅ Connect students and families with helpful resources
✅ Support academic success

We appreciate your partnership in making attendance a priority. Together, we can help every Spartan thrive this school year! 💙
