Our goal is sending students to college, and preparing them for the world beyond high school. Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) New Mexico is a seven-year initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Education in 17 states across the country. GEAR UP New Mexico is a division of the New Mexico Higher Education Department. GEAR UP New Mexico is at work in 12 s

chool districts to increase the numbers of students going to post-secondary schools, enhance the college-going culture in those communities and to improve access and opportunities within state colleges and universities for all students. GEAR UP New Mexico is a seven-year initiative.
