Building new is in my blood. Founding Combarco (super-fly-wheel hybrid vehicle tech) while being a student made me believe, that everything is possible and it is only matters how deeply you want it to be achieved and how much force you do dedicate to reach it. Building Actio.tv - interactive video tech company I believed that maybe I wouldn't make this world a much better place to live, but much more interesting one for sure.

Alex’s knack for creating innovation in virtualization and storage dates from the early 1990s, when he joined a tiny company of storage pioneers called Veritas Software. In a dozen years there, he established himself as a brilliant technologist at the core of major innovations ranging from the Veritas File System and the Veritas Database Edition for Oracle, to the industry’s first viable storage software appliance technology and early explorations of a then-nascent virtualization technology called Xen.

Alex was one of the backbone engineers as Veritas (now Symantec) grew from an inconsequential startup to a $2B giant. After Veritas, Alex became VP of engineering and CTO of digital archiving provider PowerFile, then served as CTO at backup software vendor Acronis.

In 2007, Alex’s experience gave him unique insight into the problems of storage management under virtual servers, leading him to co-found Virsto.

Jacqueline is a Venture Capital Analyst at Khosla Ventures where she focuses on technology and internet investments. Prior to Khosla, she worked at Capital Dynamics (previously HRJ Capital) as a private equity analyst and worked in the U.S., England, and Spain. Additionally, she works with 106 Miles and Hackers & Founders, leading organizations in the Silicon Valley which aim to connect exceptional engineers and entrepreneurs in order to create top startups.

Previously, she spent several years volunteering at the EPA working with the Hispanic community teaching immigrants about the importance of cleantech, renewable energy, recycling and global warming, and worked on state grants to support such causes.

Sergei was the first Head of Google’s Moscow R&D Center, managing development of products and technologies for both local and international markets. In less than 2 years Google Russia dramatically improved its Russian language search quality, launched over a dozen products, tripled its traffic and increased its market share from 10% to 27%.

Before joining Google Sergei co-founded and led three startup companies. Dulance, Inc. was the next generation Long Tail shopping search engine (acquired by Google). Invincible Data Systems pioneered transparent disk and e-mail encryption (acquired by VASCO Data Security). Bilbo Innovations, Inc. invented and brought to market STEP ON IT! computer pedals.

Dr. Burkov is a former research physicist who held appointments at top American universities, including Cornell University and the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Burkov obtained Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics and M.S. in physics with Honors, from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
