Listening more and judging less fosters empathy, strengthens relationships, and builds trust by allowing others to feel heard, valued, and safe from criticism. This approach requires being fully present, asking open-ended questions, and managing one’s own urge to immediately correct or criticize, ultimately reducing conflict.

👧🏼 Acknowledge feelings rather than arguing against them or immediately jumping to solutions

👧🏼Offer a “holding space” where you listen to understand, not just reply. Use phrases like “I’m here. Tell me more”.

👧🏻Mirror back what you hear to show you are present and truly listening.

👧🏻Keep communication brief, clear, and focused.
