Our leadership team had an excellent week at the National Association for College Admission Counseling Annual Conference in the City of Los Angeles! We attended incredible counselor events at University of Southern California and UCLA, and amazing evening receptions with Common App, Colleges That Change Lives, The UK Study Expert, Study in Canada and many more! We were inspired by Earvin "Magic" Johnson and his impactful relationship with his college counselor. Taking time to connect with old and new friends, colleagues and changemakers in our field is an important reminder of why we chose this profession. Huge thanks to our network for making this another outstanding opportunity. We love what we do!

Find out what Test Prep/Academic Tutor Kathleen has to say about learning your career passions in unexpected places:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Why is it important to pay attention in those science classes even if you don’t want to be a scientist? As it turns out, science can pop up in the most unexpected of careers, including in filmmaking. For example, James Cameron’s Avatar is set in a made up world, and physics modeling was integral in figuring out how gravity works, how the trees and water should move in the atmosphere, how the Pandorans’ elongated forms affect their movements. Cameron, always extremely detail oriented, went so far as to have to create completely new technology for the Avatar sequel. Existing motion capture technology wasn’t suitable for use underwater so costume designer Deborah Scott customized each suit to fully capture actors’ movements, which was then digitized and enhanced for the silver screen. Weta FX, the studio responsible for the visual effects, invented new digital technology to create Cameron’s world with precision and detail, from the beads woven into the costumes to the giant underwater creatures."
