BLK Publishing Co., Inc. was founded in 1988 to produce a series of black LGBTQ magazines.
In 1994 the publications were discontinued and the company reinvented itself offering publication design and other print-related services.

Swann Auction Galleries has four early copies of BLK up for auction with a price estimate of $800-$1200. Sounds good, but we'll see what they actually sell for.

BLK issue 1, December 1, 1988. Merry Christmas, again, 30 years later.
When BLK, the newsmagazine that collected and served black LBGT news and information back in the 80s and 90s turned 30 in December, we got an idea. What if -- after all these years -- we all got together again? The One Institute picked up on the idea and offered to help make it happen. And so we invite all the old gang, staff and subscribers -- as well as the new LGBTQ cohort -- to a reunion on April 12-13, 2019. Save that date!
Watch this space for more details. But like any high school or college reunion, the challenge is to locate everyone. Scour your address book and spread the word.
