Middle College High School

Congratulations to Middle College High School junior Elijah Blanton who has been awarded a prestigious Warren Christopher Scholarship.

The $20,000 scholarship award is meant to inspire students to complete high school, college, and post-graduate school. The students awarded face real risks that their education will be cut short by circumstances beyond their control.

In his essay, Elijah shared details of his rough upbringing and being a foster youth. He would like to attend New York University and then Harvard University and would like to be a politician, and eventually the United States Attorney General.

Elijah wrote in his essay:

“I want to help people, impact their lives positively, and help change the corruption in the government. I want to create a non-profit that helps children of all ages and adults through rigorous and innovative educational classes and non-educational classes, activities and different services like; employment opportunities, schooling, health, scholarships, etc.”
