Excited to share a summer opportunity for students interested in international diplomacy!

The Washington International Diplomatic Academy is accepting applications for its 9th Annual Summer Diplomatic Academy (July 8–30, 2026) — available both in person in Washington, D.C. and online.

This program lets you learn directly from career ambassadors with decades of real-world experience. Topics include diplomatic negotiation, embassy management, political and economic tradecraft, cross-cultural communication, and more — all taught through simulations and case studies drawn from actual diplomatic careers.

Open to undergrad students, grad students, and recent graduates.
Cal State LA students: Partial $1,000 scholarships are available. To be considered, reference Professor McLendon's name (Jared McLendon) and note that I shared this opportunity when asked "How did you learn about this program?" on the application.
