Tip 1: Prepare Things The Night Before.

No one wants to be running around like a crazy person looking for their pencil when they’re trying to get out the door. Preparing certain things the night before an exam can help to de-stress and slow down your morning. Organize these things the night before your exam, so you can go to sleep easy and wake up with peace of mind.

To start the school year strong is one of the most important factors in whether a student ultimately does well in that particular year.
There is only one moment in each grade when there is a blank slate.
How do we make sure they start the year strong? Here are some thoughts.
Organization: Students can’t do their homework unless they know what it is. They need an organization system that works for them. It doesn’t need to be perfect, and it doesn’t need to be something that would work for anyone else. Whether a conventional planner, an app on their phone, or a combination of the two, they need a system that is repeatable.
Study Space: Students need a dedicated space where they do their homework, and this space must be conducive to getting work done. Again, it doesn’t need to be set up in a way that works for you, but in a way that works for them.
Communication: Establishing a line of communication with teachers is an important skill for them (and you) to learn. Don’t wait until something goes wrong to do this. Whether an email letting a teacher know how much they enjoyed a given class, or to ask a question about a homework assignment, these are important steps in teaching students to advocate for themselves.
Guidance Counselor: Getting to know a guidance counselor is not only smart but incredibly helpful. They are the people you go to see if you’re struggling in a class, need to switch sections, have trouble with your schedule, or need college advice when that time comes. Get to know them because they are there for you!
